What amount of my budget should go toward my wedding planner?
1
We generally see people spending about 10% of their wedding budget on their planner. However, we genuinely believe that your wedding planner is going to be the best investment you make in your wedding. Yes, we understand that this is the business we are in, but we genuinely believe this and would say it even if we weren’t planners. Putting in energy, time, and money to your wedding day to then have to run the show yourselves, answer a bunch of questions, and be exhausted and stressed just doesn't make sense. We promise you will have a terrible wedding day that way! With an organized team who has asked all the big questions ahead of time, is the main point of contact on your wedding day, and can make adjustments behind the scenes so you don’t have to - your wedding day will be amazing and forever memorable.
How much does it cost to hire an event planner in North Carolina?
2
Costs for planners can vary depending on many factors - MAINLY this will depend on the service/package you pick and the amount of time your planner is spending working with you. When looking at package costs it is important to ask how many team members are included in the price and any other inclusions. For example, we offer all our clients use of our existing decor closet - this is not full service decor, but it can save you a lot of money when you consider the cost of buying 80 candle holders! We also include a day of lead and a day of assistant at all our events for unlimited hours. On your wedding day alone that averages 22 staff hours.
Some planners charge percentage based pricing, meaning the higher your wedding budget, the more they make. We have made the conscious choice to have transparent flat rate pricing. Meaning, no matter your budget or the hours we put in, you know the price for our services ahead of time!
Can I get married in my backyard in Durham, NC?
3
Funny you ask! Yes! Our founder, Rebs and her husband did just that!
You can totally get married in your backyard - however, if you want to have a celebration with guests present you will want to be mindful of how many people can realistically fit in your backyard, and most importantly especially in NC, you will want to think about your plan incase of inclement weather. The best thing Rebs had for her backyard wedding were portable bathrooms - we know a great team that can get that set up for you!
How do I choose a wedding planner?
4
Short answer: *Vibes*
You and your planning team will spend time meeting ahead of your wedding day, it's best you like the people you are spending time with! You want to feel understood by your planning team because they will represent you in handling big decisions on your wedding day (aside from saying “I do”!). Finally, you want to pick a team you can trust - people who love details and you know you can lean on the day of. People you trust to take care of things behind the scenes, who you know will respect your wishes and vision. Most importantly, you should pick some one who will tell you the truth. Events by Rebs does not beat around the bush. We will tell you if what you are thinking doesn’t align with your budget, or if you are over thinking something, or if you need to go sit and have some water!
You want to choose a team you think will show up on your wedding day and represent your journey with grace and ensure everyone has a great time. We love to be involved on your wedding day, helping guests, holding a baby for someone, getting to know your parents or best friend, holding your grandmother’s hand as she walks down the stairs, refilling your uncles beer, or making sure there is a solid K-Pop Demon Hunters musical interlude for the kiddos to tear up the dance floor!
